we were already told of the word ' Utopia ' and illustration on the Radio Tower white board, and
over the years, Updates, expansion,
drifting alone on the sea, the
Journal itself compiled a list of names, scrap notes of scattered survivors, from
different locations,
fate or the waves brought the people together,
Quite similar to the word ' Pargos ' in the zombie series.
I like how they had that line about gathering as many stories about the world as you can, yet with the Chapter 3 update, they REMOVED a good chunk of those stories from the game via notes. I like analyzing the notes I get in every location and deciphering what happened to the inhabitants, but with all those notes gone, it's like they've been snapped out of existence. Rather sad way to have a character's last proof of existence just removed like that because they feel only a handful of people left in the world matter.
The whole "crazy scientist turns supervillian / plucky kid tries to bring him down" story felt very cliche.
They took an interesting collection of stories and made it a less-than-subtle racist aesop about how fat white people that like war are bad. About the only thing they could have added was to add a southern drawl to their strawman.
Although honestly, the thing that annoys me the most? The people of Utopia were held in a cage with bamboo supports that was right on the edge of the city, with miles of open water behind it. I have a lot of rope, plenty of skill at throwing grappling hooks at distant targets, a paddlesteamer with plenty of horsepower, and several axes. There is no reason I couldn't weaken the supports, lash the cage to my raft, and rip off the back wall. Then we abandon Utopia (seriously, no place named Utopia has ever been a good place to live) and leave Olaf with his pets and delusions. Problem solved.
