Raft

I cannot get to the blue dots ( quests )
So i'm trying to start a quest, my very first one but i am having a rough time sailing towards the blue dot. I built the receiver, 3 antennas and the battery to make it work. On the radar i can see the blue dots for quests and green dots for big islands. For some damn reason i cannot get towards the blue dot, no matter were i switch my sails i just cannot get to it in a straight line, the blue dot keeps circling around the radar which is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ weird.

Am i missing something here? if for example i'm at 500m far, i dont know why were ever i sail i just cannot get it under 500, it keeps going up to 505, 520 etc. I do not have advanced sailing parts, just the sail, and the red flag that tells you where the wind is coming from.

If you're close and have resources to craft paddles, you can paddle your way to it. Sail can't move your raft against the wind (build and place a streamer to see wind direction), only slow down raft's windward movement. Only ways to go against the wind is using paddles or engines.

Do not worry though. If you let your raft float with the wind to over 2000 meters away from the story location, it will despawn and game will spawn a new one, hopefully in direction you can sail to. Only exception to this rule (not sure about final chapter locations yet) is Balboa Island that is designed to always spawn in direction that is against the wind from your raft forcing you to use either plenty of paddles or engines to reach.

Oh damnnn so i have to make like 20 paddles? i guess that makes sense because the location is opposite to were the wind is. The thing is the raft still moves obviously not that fast and still i'm not being able to reach the blue dot.

I guess i will try and paddle my way. I'm stuck at 743m which kinda sucks. I will try to paddle then, thanks!

Unfortunately at the moment you'll have to use paddles

Engines are disappearing off the raft at a alarming rate.

if u have just started the game the wind will take to the first 2 blue dots ( radio station and the ship) ( build a few sails to help u , if u move off line just rotate the sails back towards the dots) the next island u will need the engine as it is against the wind

I had this as well and better option then doing 100 paddles is to go with the wind (away from radio tower location).
When it gets too far (around 2200 - 2500m) its position will be reset (or your position) and you will have it more oe less ahead of you.

This usually boils down to the same few issues, separately or in combination. Short version is this is some kind of user error. No surprise, given the thing comes without any hint of how it works.

1) When you look at the receiver screen, the direction you are facing is up. The direction your raft is travelling in is not displayed at all, you need to figure that out yourself.

2) You've already passed it. Not a problem, you just need to get it to despawn behind you. Your efforts to get back to it are actually making this take longer. Sail with the wind a few days then try again, it'll respawn the blue dot and should do so somewhere that you can reach.

3) You think the wind is blowing a different direction than it really is. A streamer or flag will point the wind's actual direction; put one next to your sail to always have the reference.

You might want to try sailing to one of the closer green dots for practice.

How do you use engines if you don't have the blueprint to make them? I'm at the ship and I'm having an issue with getting the wire, not sure how to do it, and then after this I'm off to the next one, but if you are right and you need engines, where do you get the blueprints for them?

you are close, as for the wires just need to look all over the ship and around it for mechanical parts. don't want to spoil too much for you

In the same room as where you get the code for the next island. They are NOT hidden, they're hard to miss, but you can theoretically miss them. Don't leave the ship without them!

Thank you guys for your help. I will try my best!

I will give paddles a go, if it does not work i will just keep moving on with the wind and see what happens.
