Not everyone enjoys the levels of stress/frustration a game like Dark Souls brings with its challenge, or the railroad directional gameplay that comes with FF games (i own both fwiw).
And because it is quite niche survival game. other survival on raft clones weren't as successful.
This game is for people who want a survival crafting game that is fairly relaxed. As people have mentioned Subnautica is probably the closest you get to Raft but even that probably isn't right since Subnautica is just it's own condensed world. Basically this is like Minecraft but on the water.
