Cannot download raft after new update

I had raft for a while and it was fine and dandy, no issues. But i stopped playing for a bit since it would have been a while since the new update and uninstalled it. New update came out and I tried to install it, but everytime I do it says "disc write error" and then "missing downloaded files" after it reaches 100%. I have done nearly everything the internet has an answer for.
- New Steam Library folder
- uninstall and reinstall steam
- restart computer
- clear download cache
- clear my computer cache
- turn off antivirus during download
Nothing appears to work. I don't want to say it's a pc thing because it was perfectly fine before, and my pc's a pretty good one. Can anyone help me or is it just genuinely my computer

tried to do an exception file in avast antivirus and it still did nothing. it keeps saying "disc write error" and then "missing downloaded files"

Mine keeps saying "resume". I cleared steam cache and it fixed it. Tried installing on new partition new drive. Uninstalled manually removed folder, all still you play the game once and exit, come back in and it tries to update "RESUME"

You can pretty that resume a million times nothing happens.

There's no resume thing like I can't finish downloading the game at all. i validated the game files too but it says its downloaded and yet there are no files. i really can't explain it any other way it confuses the ♥♥♥♥ out of me

I had the same problem. Antivirus was the culprit. I had to remove it from quarantine, restore it, and provide and exception. Problem fixed.

Its not just a "your pc thing", I have the exact same issue and have tried every possible solution short of a full wipe and reinstall of steam. The game wants to retry and attempt to download raft.exe over and over again. There is something very broken with how the download is being handled.

I even went so far as to manually copy the files from the download folder to the raft folder to try to bypass the broken download issue. Zero luck.
