Hi, we are looking into this. Please, can you tell me if this was in single or multiplayer?

I tested it in singles and multiplayer. no matter if single or multiplayer it is always the same 2 or 3 sharks are around the raft. if you kill one a new one spawns.

That's normal in hard mode since Update 8. On hard every time you kill a shark, there is change of multiple sharks spawning instead of just one.

UPDATED HARD MODE

Hard mode have gotten a makeover: there's now a chance of multiple sharks spawning when you kill one, and the sharks health has been increased a bit (5 hits instead of 4) for it to go away. The shark will also attack in a more frequent, but random pattern, which should make for more exciting gameplay. We aim for this to be a mode where you should think and calculate the chances you take - before you take them. As always, we appreciate feedback, so yell at us if it's too hard. :) Food and Thirst is also harder to sustain, and all enemies have had their damage increased.

I think about stopping playing raft since there´s a chance of 2 sharks spawning in HM when you kill one. Gameplay is now reduced to fighting back sharks and repairing structures. That´s no fun anymore.

we just had 2 sharks on a 2 player multiplayer on hard mode. Honestly it really should scale with the ammount of players in the multiplayer. With just two players is should still be only one shark.

People who insist on playing a game on a setting above their skill level deserve everything they get. If you cannot deal with it then you are not good enough to play it and you should accept that you need an easier setting. But no. Too many people are so convinced of their own brilliance and have to play everything on hard mode and usually have to tell everyone about it.

NOBODY CARES.....

If two sharks with 2 players in hard mode is too much then what chance do people on easy have with one shark vs one player.

The sharks suck. They are too much effort. Too time consuming to kill off and there is too little reward for doing it to bother. I just swim and take the hits. Die ? Who cares just dive again.

Im actually enjoying the peaceful mode. There are several good options for difficulty. The only way to improve it further would be a custom mode with changeable settings for everything in between, which would also allow for a true nightmare mode for the really hardcore gamers.

I hadent realised there was a possibility for more sharks, at some point I gotta try that out. Dont worry, its only digital death. And gamers dont die, they just respawn.

If they fix the seagull bug in peaceful it would be fine. But I could not get seagulls = no feathers = some items couldn't be crafted. So I went to easy/normal. No way would I bother with hard and multiple sharks. One constant shark is too much bother as it is. The sharks not hard or anything and lots of the mechanics of the shark do add to the game but after a point it just becomes massively tedious dealing with it. You get more involved in crafting your raft and getting components for it and that thing is simply annoying.

lol I did take the time to read this whole post but I read enough to know you shouldn't be allowed to comment I played 80 hours on normal mode beat the game and thought it was not challenging enough. I began hard mode and there are three sharks around my raft and everytime I kill one there's a chance for more to spawn!? It's not above our skill range it's not playable There are no respawns lol. I haven't does but I also cannot play. They ruined the game with that update . Making the sharks stronger and more fierce was one thing And solo with no respawns is tough But 3 sharks with possibility for more is not playable.

This post is from 5 years ago. Maybe the game has changed a bit since then eh? Point stands though. If you aren't up to the challenge then play something more to your skill level. I can comment but you can't play...

I read all your post and I must say that it's completely disjointed and incoherent. Well done.
