Where is all the clay?

Since the update, I am finding it difficult to find clay. Tons of sand, no clay. The last 3 small islands I visited had zero clay, lots of sand. Any ideas?

I think they nerfed clay at lil islands.
I've found a lot at the big ones.

Same here, usually found at least 3+ per small island. My newly create world currently at #6 island and just got the 7th clay.

I think dev may increase the iron scrap rate and lower the clay. I feel like those island is some kind of old factory...

It makes me sad. I tried playing a run with my friend so we can get to the new content but that new content takes even longer now to get to. =[

clay fir bricks... for smelters... why you guys need so much of it?

Running 2-3 smelters is common before, but now I can't even get the first smelter after #9 islands :v (This leave you nothing but basic gear for very, very long time)

I thought it was nerfed as well, but it just took a much more thorough search to find it. I did notice a few times where the clay was covered by the plants and I only found it by accident when trying to pick up some scrap.

Clay is also now used for crafting bowls for the new food. The bowls are consumable so if you are going to eat the new food a lot you need a constant supply of clay.

We're looking into it, seems to be an issue with the LOD! Will hopefully be fixed soon ;)

Found twice some material in wall, maybe they are there
(island with the crashed plane, there's scrap you can loot in the rock)

Ive got the same issues with clay. I visited 6 islands now, but I got only 3x clay. And tonnes of sand...

Im exactly the same, been at several islands, get loads of scraps, stone and sand but very very few clay... :(

Yohohooo, a bit derail/hijack thread but, did the patch fix Shark "I want to bite anywhere I wish" habit? It nearly got my Storage box again.

Unfortunately this is a more complex problem that we're still investigating :)

Thanks that you fixed that quickly, now it works, and I am finally able to build a smelter. Great!
