Problems running Raft on Steam Deck
Frame rate randomly drops to a slideshow. Fan runs constantly at max. Eventually the deck crashed (probably due to overheating).

Every other game I've tried on the deck has worked great. What's the deal with Raft?

Anyone else have tips to get it working?

This really doesnt surprise me..... Would be pretty cool if they do manage to get it running on there but considering they dont even have controller support......

You got lucky. On my Deck, the instant the map finishes loading, the game crash and the whol Deck reboots

I tried it again last night and it was better, but it still crashed when it was supposed to load the final story area.

Tried it yesterday myself and the fan is going crazy, even on lowest settings. Either CPU or GPU are at a constant 100%, can't remember which one, maybe even both... And i was just starting a fresh map! I really hope they optimize this a bit more :(

I turned Shadows off completely and that helped a lot, but like I said, it still crashed.

Not sure why it's rated as "playable;" it's really not.

Steam Deck is a Linux platform. Raft doesn't really have good Linux support, ergo it doesn't run well on the Deck.

There are lots of games that "don't have good linux support" that work perfectly on the deck. It uses a compatibility layer called Proton to make Windows games work.

Not every game is made equal.

Proton doesn't need Linux compatibility from the game though. I think you might be confused here with the deck using a compatibility layer, not Linux compatibility to play windows games.
