The fellas here provide quite a bit of good info. May I add to it that generally dishes improve the ingredients (not accounting for clay & wood expenses), but for juices I'm not so sure. I'm basing this off wiki numbers, and while "Bonus Thirst" has no known number I'm assuming it has the same ratio against normal "Thirst" as normal and bonus "Hunger" have to each other, and I've also only done the math for Simple Smoothie thanks to the tough requirements of most juices so far.
Admittedly I'm making Simple Smoothies despite of this, and recently my juicing options might've opened up so I'm ought to review the other juices as well.
The ones that give the stuff you need the most.
From the Seeeds/Fruits you can seed and have on storage.
When you have enough on storage of something you dont need to produce moore

When i needed wood i planted the Tree seeds that gave the most wood
When i needed Mangos or Bananas i planted them
When i filled my 2+1mix+2 Potatoe and Redbeet Crates i planted these
When i needed Paint i planted the Flowers of the kind i needed
For fuel i just planted mixed Flowers or (after i had the advanced scarewcrows) White (since white i needed the most)
As you can see on the picture i had at the end a mixed Forest (just for the look)
The medium Planters are empty and the small ones are filled with flowers for the honey
Well Honey i had more than enough in the end with 36 Honeycombs each harvest
Yeah I am only recently getting into the recipies for food n drink, so I'll keep this in mind.. Thankyou..
I don't have the advanced scarecrow as yet, working towards it. Just reached Tier 2..
Wow, that's a nice raft... I have seen it before though.. Did you post it on Nexus or in a guide here...? How many engines you need for that..?, mine is needing 8 at the moment..
I've been making the fish soup for my normal use as it only requires 2 of herring/pompfret and 2 of potato/beet which I seem to get tons of from the nets. I haven't really needed to farm with those for a while as a stack gives me 10 meals but I do have some plots for beets/potatoes. It does require a bit of fishing, but if I use a wooden fishing rod I have a 50% chance to get either a herring or pompfret. I have an almost 70% chance to get either of those and a mackarel.
I use my other meats (animal and drumsticks) to make BBQ's for when I'm on a large island or doing story missions. So I've not really been farming for food. I haven't been making shark dinners because I have also been using the special foods for swimming speed and the smoothies for extra oxygen, which uses some of the same ingredients as the shark dinner.
I have been actively farming for my smoothies. I started off just using all my pineapple, mango and palm tree seeds to get myself the stuff for a simple smoothie, but as soon as I got bananas I switched to making magonana's. For some reason banana trees seem to be self sustaining whereas other fruit trees don't seem to be; I seem to regularly get 14/15 seeds back from the 8 I plant in my plots. Mango trees aren't, but they give like 2 fruit back on every tree, and it only requires 1 mango for a mangonana.
I've also been actively farming pineapples and strawberries so that I can make the spicy pineberry for swimming speed.
Its just easyer than describing it
early game, you can put a small planter under the research table too to shelter it for your spuds n beets :)
I did manage to get the advanced scarecrow today, so that will help things. I agree on the spuds and beets too, quick and easy to grow..
I'm almost done with the story now, assuming Utopia is the end, as I just finished Temperance, but I am guessing you can still keep playing afterwards..
Means you eat for example the Potatoe redbeet Dish (4 of them in any mix) and you dont need to eat agaion for double so long
Drinks you need (dependent on the drink) 3-4 for a full bar, Dishes 4-5
Some dishes give even buffs as faster running, Swimming or betray death (the ones with a star, mostly (all?) buyed recipes)

Thats why my Kitchen is german style, 5 Pots and 5 Mixer. So if you focus for some time on cooking you can have several Container full of food

(The german question: "Can we do that on industrial level ?")
That's... strange. You sure it wasn't leftovers or one of the drinks with a stat buff?
That sounds like leftovers or a bonus one. If you got a green circle at the bottom of your screen that was slowly decaying, it was a bonus one. If it was just a green drink, then it was leftovers.
If neither, did you see that there was a bit of a blue bar added to your thirst bar?
All of the other recipes add thirst, but they also add bonus thirst. Some of them don't add a lot of thirst (like 30 for a strawberry colada, but it adds 50 bonus). I don't know if the bonus thirst they add decays slower than the normal thirst, the bonus food does though. You can stack it to 100 as well. So you can have 100 thirst and 100 bonus thirst on top of it, which would give you double the amount of time that a normally filled bar would (maybe more if the thirst decays slower).
Quite possible I'm misunderstanding something though, take that with a pinch of salt.
@KtX2Skd, So 6 is max no matter how many foundations are used..? Good to know, and that drink was one that I picked up in loot while in Temperance. I don't know what it was called though...
@WhamyKaBlamy, Honestly I can't remember there being any bonus. As I mentioned I got it in some loot and needed a drink so I drank it hoping for a drink boost and it barely gave me anything but I don't remember what colour it was or what it was called. I was kinda busy at the time :)
Somehow hard to miss this "WTF" joke
