What Plants/Trees Are Best To Grow...?

So with everything that I can plant, what makes the best sense, as in what am I going to need/use the most..?

Depends on what you're after really.

Trees, I usually make sure to plant all my mango/coconut tree's for those 2 so I can turn them in to a drink, then I plant birch and pine tree's for wood, since I'm working on building a massive ship and it's taking a LOT of wood.

Plants I grow all of my pineapple's (For the drink above), potatoes for the bowl of veg soup and all the melons for backup bio-fuel (Which becomes less of a problem once you get 2-4 goats, since Milk is easily accessible and does 1/2 a bio-fuel each without taking the buckets).

Other than that, you don't "need" to plant anything really, and it can be really annoying to maintain thanks to the low drop chance of everything but potatoes/beetroots. Getting animals (Mainly Llama's for the recycler and goat's for the bio-fuel) negates a lot of uses for planting anything.

After years of playing it.... it's useless cause you collect things with nets and on islands. But sometimes i plant a few flowers to make honey, thats about it

Second this, I have about five chickens with a 9 plot on auto water and have more than enough eggs for bio fuel and anything else. Usually use them as my floating food and save the prepared meals for exploration.

yeah, I was thinking of the biofuel mostly... I have chickens, and eggs, but hadn't found a use for the eggs as yet.. So use them for biofuel.... ok then. Thanks..

I never grow any trees. The space it takes up on the raft just isn't worth the yield.

Crop plots I never really use except for biofuel, but if you want to grow something, grow beets and potatoes. Two of each in a cooking pot makes a decent meal and you don't have to worry about harvesting enough seeds. All you need is a steady supply of clay.

You don't need seeds. You plant them directly.

To get tree seeds, you cut down trees on islands and then plant them in the large containers, i would have 2 plots as emergency backup, damn i need wood for the fire kinda thing.
bee hives need flowers near them which gives honey which is also needed for bio fuel and i have as many chucks as can find for the eggs, x4 llarmas for their wool too.
i had a few medium plots with fruit in for smoothies later in game but i built below decks (under roof) with birds nest on top to keep seagulls away. flowers also needed for paint if you want to get artistic.

Yeah, I forgot about fruit for drinks, good idea as I have a few recipies now..
