what happened to the developers?

the last news i got from them was in june when they published the new update but after that they stopped doing the mothly dev blog and basically disappeared, someone knows if this game will continue to have update or is abandoned?

Last two teasers are from November indicating they're currently working on the second story location for the Chapter 3 (each chapter so far has contained 2 story locations):

Hello Rafters!

We're making good progress on our new destinations! Here's some buildings for ya!

They also held large charity event in collaboration with TeamSeas on Raft Discord between 2nd and 17th of December.

Currently they're most likely on Christmas vacation so I wouldn't expect any updates for awhile.

Gotta remember too: it's a small dev team (we're talking single digits here), and most of them have families. Spouses, kids, etc.
While they may be working it here and there, the holiday season doubtless has their focus dedicated to more important things like spending time with family.
So while I doubt they are entirely idle, we probably won't hear any news until after the New Year. Was pretty much the same last year, too.
Not to worry, this is far from abandoned!

sure it is, but it seemed strange to me to not reciving dev blog since june, you know...

no different than endnight games no update for over 10 months and they just now updated few weeks ago.. lets hope no abandonment happened not good for them.

nah they go long spurts but usually pull through im guessing late February to mid march at latest as that was around when the last update dropped and seems about the right dev time
