Why do floors need support beams?

So i get the logic of it, but since the game allows endless spamming of roofs i guess realism isn't that important, i find the constant need for support beams to place floors really frustrating:(

If you use the triangular floors, once they're in place you can remove the beams and the floors will remain. It doesn't eliminate having to build the beams in the first place, but it does mean you don't have to deal with them later.

if you use the "HALF beams" as temporary supports, you get ALL the resources returned upon their removal.

Without a basis of endpoint edges of a wall or pillar,
how would you expect the game to ' read your intention ',
if you are simply looking up the sky while holding a hammer or trying to build a flooring.
Else the game will have to calculate every single spot of space around you just because you own your ' unrealistic ' hammer.

I'm not talking about being able to place floors floating in mid air, say i build 4 walls high, i then decide to add the floor, i can only add the floor 1-2 tiles from the wall connected to the raft, while for a roof, i can build them endlessly making a massive ramp with just the single connecting point, i'm not advocating buildings not needing to be connected to the raft, i just want it to work like roofs currently do.

Even if it isn't the same as mincraft, it should certainly allow you to build floors further away from the support, right now it's overkill.

Also, why can't the building be like minecraft? Literally the most successful and popular building game ever.

Are you really that stupid? You think removing the support mechanic would make raft like minecraft? I'm not talking about floating buildings or the like, just being able to make a 10x10 square connected to the raft without tons of support beams

It's how the game is, but it's unnecessary and limiting, it's early access and open to change so i'm here complaining about something i have an issue with.

im not arguing about anything, so i dono where you got that from, he may be.

also this isn't anything to do with how i feel, it's how the game is made, this is blunt and to the point, i even gave him a tip
