Stationary anchor placement
Hey guys!

I am in the process of building a raised raft "comando plateau". Hence I want to control my raft from high ground. But placing the anchor is not working as i hoped. According to the wiki it can only be placed on foundations or nets. But I want to place it upstairs. I even tried to remove the foundation below but the selecting the anchor won't even show the red anchor shape.

That's the screenshot i took to show what my plan was. The anchor should be placed around the red square and the whole in the bottom is where the anchor would drop to.

Any ideas?

Unfortunately, you've currently run into a gameplay limitation. The anchor has to be on a foundation. It will not let you place it on any other floor. Maybe there's a mod out there that will let you do it, but by default, you need to use foundations for the anchor. I've definitely tried putting everything on a raised platform before, so I understand what you're trying to do. Since engines obviously have to be on foundations as well, I recommend just parking your anchor near them/where you plan to have them.

Thanks for the quick help! Saved me some time. Though i hate the fact that's the way it is. Big rafts start getting run over by waves constantly which I hate.

I don't wanna run downstairs everytime just to hit the anchor. Especially when there is limited vision to maneuver from downstairs.

But guess that's the way it has to be for now.

You don't need to build the anchor on the 2nd floor. Build it on foundation next to the upper floor, and you can reach the crank from above. You can then put sail and reciever above so you don't have to change position at all while sailing.

I think that only works for one story high platforms? I have had several stories high in mind. Which wouldn't be able to be reached. But thanks for the input!
