Dying while holding key blueprints
Playing the game and died to the mama bear on Balboa... I has the bioreacctor blueprint on me. Is it gone forever?

Blueprints should also respawn when you revisit a location since Update 12:

All blueprints now respawn when revisiting locations

You learn the blueprint item automatically when you pick them up and can then research the item on research table. Blueprints have no further use after you pick them up.

Once you pick up a BP, you can safely toss it... or stick it up on the wall of your raft somewhere. Whatever works for you.
