Seagulls and windows?
Can seagulls fly through windows?

From my experience they cannot (or will not) fly through them, but they can sit on the windows and eat from small crop plots attached just beneath the window.

They also can, at times, fly through ceilings and eat crops as well.

But otherwise no, they don't really fly in the windows and into rooms. But I am a little puzzled as to why one would eat a fully grown blue flower plant used as decoration. Kind of disappointing that I can't really expect flowers on the window sill or kitchen table to stay.

Don't seagulls eat seeds instead of flowers? I mean the seeds are already grown into flowers so there's no seeds left.

for role-play value I'm pretending they are diging for worms and just happen to ruin my flowers in the process

I've had them fly through windows before, yeah. It made me very disappointed that I couldn't protect my plants by putting them indoors, haha.

I mean you can protect your plants by putting them indoors. Just build walls instead of windows. And since sunlight doesn't matter, plants can grow in the dark...

As long as there is an Opening,
a hole in the ceiling, opened doorway or window,
the gulls will fly thru to lay on the nest or plunder your plant plot.

Only time they ignore nest and plots are those within an enclosed room.

Developers should include nets to close up the window entrance for seagulls. Would be very useful haha. And maybe a trap to capture the shark for several minutes untill the shark breaks free on its own.

Oh, and does making multiple sails make your raft go faster or does it keep the same speed as using only one sail?

the windows look like they have some sort of blinds though.. assumably a "window" can be "closed" which is the benefit vs just having a 1/2 wall instead

more sails will not make you go any faster

You'd think, and that many what one intended reason is, but seagulls are able to ruin fully grown watermelons and pineapples if you let them.
(ah, simplistic game mechanics )

That's one way of thinking about it.

But I think there is something more sinister going on.

Ever notice that they peck the heck out of scarecrows? Yeah, they are out to destroy or eat anything! They'll even eat you if you somehow stopped moving long enough.:steammocking:

I thought so too, and discounted other people saying the seagulls went through ceilings when I had several large crops grow just fine I the small first floor room, until one of them flew into my enclosed room and pecked at things. There was a ladder preventing me placing one wall, but otherwise the room was under another room on the button floor of my raft and had no windows.

I have to admit, despite that glitch, they do attack crops with less frequency. Even the shoe-pots with a flower in them that I had on a shelf next to a window and one on the kitchen table took quite a few days be a darn bird ate them, so there is some benefit to enclosing.
