And because I needed a little bit more space for my raft, it gave me a new expansion idea as well, which was cool. So in the end, I have to say I'm quite happy with it. If the developers want to give them more importance though, they maybe could either make them a bit smaller so you can stack 2 on top of each other, or give them 20 more inventory space.
Other than that, I prefer Large Storage for storing tools, equipment, paints or rare material such as metals (ore, ingot, hinge & bolt), because storing various of them in separated chests would make it very cluttered.
as it is now, i only start using them once i have half a chest of titanium stockpiled.
As you can tell from the, er, "recent" updates, the team is more focused on adding cosmetic items and campaign content than rebalancing what exists in the game.
Functionally I don't see a reason to waste the materials to make one other than to decrease the clutter, but on the raft i'm on with the current setup more storage space is more valuable to me. Don't really have an issue with lag.
So really the only other reason I'm seeing to make one is for cosmetic purposes. Hope they come around to make it better.
Edit: This is just my opinion of course, those who enjoy it purely for cosmetics are free to do so aftter all.
you can rotate the large storage just like everything is rotated by holding "R"
He prolly means making them "drawer"-style, like a morgue or filing cabinet, where their heads/feet are facing you
yer probably right :)
The large storage are just ugly.
However, it's a pain in the butt hanging signs that don't block access. My two solutions so far are to put the signs as low as possible, or to use small trophy mounts instead of signs... but then you can't write as much :(
