1) Im getting no performance issue on a rtx 2070 super with maxed out graphic on a medium size raft
2)As of now you can easily sink a couple hundred hours if you want to do everything in the game, also depending if you wanna rush the chapter or explore most island you come across.
3)I have played almost excusively solo and never had any issue to complete everything and never felt like i needed other players on my raft.
4)It is nothing like Subnautica, the only under water you will be doing is to get some ressource which are not deep. I cant say for other games as i have not played them as much.
Two chapters are complete, and it's more than enough to be worth playing.
Yes. I only play solo, and I've been able to complete the first two chapters and build anything I desire. That said, I still haven't gotten the knack behind killing the large rock-dropping birds on the large islands.
I haven't played any of them. While there are dark aspects to the game world, it's a pretty bright-colored and optimistic take on the apocalpse.
i use a laptop
1- can run the game on max settings without a single issue. Except last area in the game ( currently ) where the fps drops to 80-90 fps, probably due to how much is on the screen etc. yet previous area had similar or more buildings and stuff and there was no much of fps impact like the last current area.
2- i was kinda disappointment when me and my friend figured out that next area will come later in the dlc, we didn't know how much was there, but for EA, it is more than expected, if things were taken slowly without rushing.
3- yes
4- it is like the forest, except you build on raft, threat to your building in the forest comes from cannibals, in raft it comes from shark(s) yet u only meet one every few mins.
2) It's still incomplete. There's a sizable amount of content though, more than enough for several hours of play.
3) Solo isn't any more difficult than multiplayer. The main bottleneck for food and water upkeep is time (waiting for crops to grow or meat to cook), so having an additional player actually makes things slightly harder until you can get a decent supply going.
4) Of the games you mentioned I would say it's most like Subnautica in terms of game feel; Wander the area gathering resources for a thing, which will help you survive or gather more resources faster, and occasionally work toward a story location.
2) It's a few years old and they keep adding content.
3) I only play solo but the multi-player Let's Play's on Y look like lot's of fun.
4) It's pretty simple overall. That's why I like it.
It can be frustrating to start out. Don't feel bad if you die a few times. I'd suggest Easy Mode when starting so you don't lose all your stuff if you die.
Once you research green goo and metal you can make a spear / bow and kill the shark (he respawns eventually). Then the game becomes much more relaxed.
Haven't run into any 'smokers' yet, mind you I did manage to get my raft stuck on the semi-sunken and upended hull of the 'Exxon Valdez'
Splendid fun and the devs deserve their rewards man :)
