Raft
This game's lore is DARK (may contain spoilers)
The game seems like an innocent ocean survival game with the vibrant colors and the cartoon-ish artstyle. But as you delve into the game's story, the fate of the world just gets dark.

UV weapons testing in Africa speeding up the melting of the polar ice caps, cities like San Francisco, Tokyo, Stockholm, and other coastal cities being completely submerged in water, humanity being forced to move to the arctic or build raft cities, and even an island where a park ranger went insane and murdered his family before getting eaten by a bear.

Any other examples y'all can think of? I doubt I touched most of the examples of how dark this story gets.

Lots of class struggles, too. The Vasgatan and the dome city/ship both had massive disputes over simple things like food due to those in charge believing themselves to be more 'important' or 'deserving.' It seems class hierarchies had become even more severe at the end. Even among the elite, like the survivors in the dome, fought among each other about who was more 'important'.
Humans are born evil.
You never ever played Mario?....lol

Maybe wanna put a spoiler warning in the thread-title?

But yea most of the survivor (well at least of time of the writing) notes you find paint a pretty dire picture.

For Jews it's the god of the Tanach, for Christians it's the god of the Bible, for Muslims it's the god of the Quran. For believers in polytheism and atheism moral standards are defined by humans?

you are not born evil, you grow into it, and this world is evil

I mean, I literally just finished exploring Tangoroa earlier tonight. It's not as dark as the Balboa story obviously (maybe not the Caravan one either) but Captain Tulley's last note where he explains that he rounded up all the pets in the city to avoid people making desperate decisions when the food supply ran out. I remembered the earlier note where someone said he did that and being curious and the implications behind that line are still sticking with me.

It feels really grimm while playing tbh. I have to have a documentary, anything really, on my second monitor to not feel uneasy. I just finished the story so far, all I see is that most of humanity is dead and gone. Deserted clobbered together cities and everything. Corruption wherever you see and uhm... yeah I am happy to still have the poles-

"The worldly concern of Confucianism rests upon the belief that human beings are fundamentally good" - wikipedia
I think there is no good or evil. Or if you define something as good, from another point of view it can be evil.

Real world struggles to avoid that future. Do you think it will succeed?
