Scrap farming
Are there any fast methods of farming scrap? I have over abundance of everything and my only bottleneck is scrap which renders my gameplay to going from island to an island looking for more scrap. Please help.

Scrap takes a lot of diving and hooking it off the bottom. Some islands have a ton more than others. As well a couple of the story islands have tons of scrap in the water.

Only way it going to islands and looking for it underwater.
How are you lack of scraps when im lack of planks,

oh wait, i am building a massive raft.

Find scraps easily 1 stack of 20 each island from coral reefs (any size island, minimum), dirt piles

and of course floating barrels, drifting crate and survival caches and Radio Tower and Caravan Town and Tangoroa

Lol, just sail with the wind and if you have enough collection nets you will get 2 stacks of planks easy.

I'm burning through 50 stacks of planks all the time.

What are you building? :O I had a raft 11x10 and 10 collection nets from both sides so it looked like a plane from above. Never had problem with materials. I have like 4 chests full of planks and nothing to do with those. If I would start building I would have like 10 FPS XD

Scrap was my biggest bottleneck back in 2018 so i was super-agressive in gathering it on a fresh 2021 raft.

I'm back to a 30x30 raft and wood was definitely my bottleneck this time. Mostly because I couldn't farm trees on crop plots because they don't drop seeds as often. You run out and have to hop islands to find more.

So once i got the steering wheel I built "wings" of about 15 length and 5 deep (like the person above) and just started scouring the seas. I call it the Burn's OmniNet!

At 5 deep you can basically walk away for 30 min and come back and collect your bounty. I usually get about 30 stacks of planks and 1 stack of scrap. It's not much but it adds up over time.

At this point with my main "build" done and my storage full i throw away all the leaves and plastic and only keep wood / scrap / food.

But if you don't want to afk-farm, don't pass up any opportunity to hook scrap, even if you don't need the other stuff.

I don't have wings and wth is 5 deep? lol

Also plant banana trees, infinite food , seeds and woods (not as much as other types but would do and grows fast)

5 deep means 5 nets in a column... so that when the first net fills up the junk gets caught by the 2nd one, and so on.

Imagine a grid of nets 15 x 5... on each side of the raft. As long as you are steered straight into the wind they'll catch all the debris till all 5 rows are full... which is about 30min at sail speed with engines off.

I should also mention my raft is mostly 2nd floor. I only have a 5 x 5 "base" at the bottom so very little junk actually floats under any actual foundation. Imagine an upside-down pyramid.

lol oh i only have 3 deep inside my raft. just hook the rest that float aside
I did think about just make massive wing extension of just nets but it looks ugly so no :P
