Multiplayer in Raft is player hosted co-op with Steam Friends. You can only see and join games hosted by your Steam Friends. There are no dedicated servers. Only one raft per game world. No PvP other than host enabling friendly fire.

I know it is a co op game. I meant do I have to look for players from some forum or will it matchmake me with other players into a game? Does it have the matchmaking option?

There is no match making as there are no servers. All games are hosted by a player on thier machine. You have to be on their Steam Friends List to join them.

You will have to find them via a forum or discord or other method and add them to Steam Friends to play with someone.

You'd never want to play with randoms. Unfortunately some people live just to be trolls and would join your world simply to destroy all your work.

yes you would want to. no games are including online matchmaking anymore because it saves them a buck and assume people will just add people from discord banking on its popularity now. cheap games being made now and cheap excuse. You can easily have the power to kick someone if they arent co operating. Random matchmaking encourages co op gameplay more than having to go to some third party, just about bad quality games now and cheapest design possible.
