Center of Raft
So, I jumped back in for new content and loaded a previous save. I then made a small path away from my raft and built a new one. Once done I completely destroyed the original, but the seagulls still fly over where it originally was and the flow of debris is far off the left side of the raft. Is there a way to fix or recenter the flow?

Not as far as I know. Not even mod to do so exists as far as I can see.

What about give info on that as : Your starting Raft will always be in the center of the river of the debris.

Well Raft is center of everything really in the game. Even the game world only exists certain radius around it.

What you should really said is : These 4 foundation tile you start up with will always be in the center of the debris no matter which direction you build.

This is good info to know....maybe they should make a starter foundation block that is movable that is always the centre of the raft.
Does that mean the shark swims circles away from your raft? Could you make your raft like 100 blocks away from the centre part and never have to worry about the shark? Sure you might not get debris on the sides but if you did it so the shark swam 100 blocks to the front of your raft you would probly still get the debris eventually?

Yes Dyeshan that means if you build your Raft very big ( as i did ) and you throw a shark bait then the shark won`t take it because you throw your shark bait to far away from the center who is your 4 start foundation so these 4 tile you start with is : center of everything really in the game, even the game world only exists certain radius around it as Anonymous Helper trying to say.

Basically if you park your raft in the midst of the ocean and take a long swim to a floating raft who is not far away and now you turn around and look at the floating raft and then turn back to your raft to keep track of your raft location then your raft is gone forever even when you just saw it clearly a second ago and that happens even with a tiny raft.

But if you park your raft with a big tall island and take a long-long swim then you can swim to the stages you barely is able to see your island but if you cant see it anymore then your island and raft is gone forever and that is a different situation.

I have learn the hard way too always "count my animals" and make a save before i leave my big raft and i need to "stay alive no matter what" to make sure i keep everything as my animals in case bad stuff happened (before i die).

EDIT:
Basically if you build your raft 100 tile in one direction from your 4 center foundation then you should worry about your raft who is your 4 starting foundation and not all those tile you added to your raft.

Is there a console command to make a new center point? Like making the player position as new one. :lunar2019grinningpig: I think it will be nice to have that kind of console command.

Eg... /setcenterpoint player

No console commands exist to 'recenter' the raft. The raft is a grid based from the original center, and there's no changing that without some heavier coding than I want to even think about.

I had this issue myself & finally resolved it using mods... From raftmodding.com, install the mod loader, the Find Raft Center mod & the Raft Blueprint mod, & then you can use console commands to shift your raft around until you have it centered where you like it again 👍
Just wondering why would you build OFF whatever direction old raft was and start a new one.

Why not just encircle your old raft and build a new one, expanded to whatever shape????

What's the point build off course in the first place (if you ought to destroy it)??

Building off old raft and expand to new design cost less materials overall since you already have a steady foundation.

Speaking for myself, I would only say that I didn't know raft "center" was an issue... When I did my rebuild, I had a large-ish, functional, but somewhat disorganized raft that did the job, but was kind of a pain in the ass... I knew what I wanted instead, but didn't want to throw what I had already in the garbage, so I built a little walkway a few squares to the side & started a whole new build from the ground up, then slowly moved everything over into it, & then dismantled the original raft wall by wall, tile by tile, & what I didn't realize was I had shifted my raft's center by about 15 tiles to the left, & now, even though I had made a large net arrangement, the trash kept passing by the side of the raft...

So, why do players do this? Because the game doesn't tell you this will happen... Why so surprised?

Game doesn't tell you is one thing.

Wasting your precious planks to build from zero when you can utilize your unwanted old raft as base.

A true survivalist don't need to "shift" any direction and just build new OFF the old base into a new one.

Plus these complains i'm seeing moving ♥♥♥♥♥ around building off old one is nonsense, ya'll move every ♥♥♥♥♥ eventually to new one, isn't that moving ♥♥♥♥♥? you throw everything onto foundation then build into whatever you want, is that harder than build off to one side then dismantle then complain about "i don't know center stays and don't shift with you". whhhhat?

Like I said, other players are allowed to not be you, o perfect one... Just because others don't play as perfectly as you doesn't mean their play isn't worthwhile & the issues they encounter are invalid... We're sorry we weren't born with complete knowledge of the game & had to learn as we went, unlike you... 🙄

Ignorant attitude like that is what made you built off direction entirely without some basic common sense such as "why don't I just build on top of old one and get rid of the structures" because you ain't gonna keep it anyway.

It has nothing to do with perfect. I ain't perfect and I never claim so.
