What about give info on that as : Your starting Raft will always be in the center of the river of the debris.
What you should really said is : These 4 foundation tile you start up with will always be in the center of the debris no matter which direction you build.
Does that mean the shark swims circles away from your raft? Could you make your raft like 100 blocks away from the centre part and never have to worry about the shark? Sure you might not get debris on the sides but if you did it so the shark swam 100 blocks to the front of your raft you would probly still get the debris eventually?
Basically if you park your raft in the midst of the ocean and take a long swim to a floating raft who is not far away and now you turn around and look at the floating raft and then turn back to your raft to keep track of your raft location then your raft is gone forever even when you just saw it clearly a second ago and that happens even with a tiny raft.
But if you park your raft with a big tall island and take a long-long swim then you can swim to the stages you barely is able to see your island but if you cant see it anymore then your island and raft is gone forever and that is a different situation.
I have learn the hard way too always "count my animals" and make a save before i leave my big raft and i need to "stay alive no matter what" to make sure i keep everything as my animals in case bad stuff happened (before i die).
EDIT:
Basically if you build your raft 100 tile in one direction from your 4 center foundation then you should worry about your raft who is your 4 starting foundation and not all those tile you added to your raft.
Eg... /setcenterpoint player
Why not just encircle your old raft and build a new one, expanded to whatever shape????
What's the point build off course in the first place (if you ought to destroy it)??
Building off old raft and expand to new design cost less materials overall since you already have a steady foundation.
So, why do players do this? Because the game doesn't tell you this will happen... Why so surprised?
Game doesn't tell you is one thing.
Wasting your precious planks to build from zero when you can utilize your unwanted old raft as base.
A true survivalist don't need to "shift" any direction and just build new OFF the old base into a new one.
Plus these complains i'm seeing moving ♥♥♥♥♥ around building off old one is nonsense, ya'll move every ♥♥♥♥♥ eventually to new one, isn't that moving ♥♥♥♥♥? you throw everything onto foundation then build into whatever you want, is that harder than build off to one side then dismantle then complain about "i don't know center stays and don't shift with you". whhhhat?
Like I said, other players are allowed to not be you, o perfect one... Just because others don't play as perfectly as you doesn't mean their play isn't worthwhile & the issues they encounter are invalid... We're sorry we weren't born with complete knowledge of the game & had to learn as we went, unlike you... 🙄
It has nothing to do with perfect. I ain't perfect and I never claim so.
