Water washing up over raft floors...
I've noticed watching youtube vids of this game water washes up and over the raft floors. Like the water clips through the floor tiles. Is there any way to prevent this?

I wish. It's annoying. I feel like my animals are drowning lol. Although it is kinda nice sometimes to be able to pick up a barrel floating by.

You can enable Motion sickness mode in the game options. Then you won't have any waves washing over your raft. I also have my animals on the second floor of the raft.

only real way is to build a second story and use that for your main floor. my first floor is the 'basement' with all the engines and biofuel and water tanks, with all my real rooms on the floor above

Do the collector pieces that collect the ocean loot work on the second story or only the first?

Only first floor. Same floor as foundation tiles.

yeah you usually just dont build anything down there except your ships vitals and maybe cargo, now, you COULD also probably not use it at all and add an entire platform layer to hold it above water but then you need way more supplies and itd be harder to get the shark off until you armor the foundation or whatever

Easy solved. just make "wings" about 4 or 5 foundations long on each side of your main floor. Ol' bruce will go for them everytime. Then over time armor the rest of the floor and axe the wings when youre ready.

Or, just use the passive sharks mod.

After my initial scramble and I have an armored perimeter of nets I build everything but my engine room up half a level.
