Lets talk about the ladder!

so after the update, I created a creative world to test all of the wonderful things they have added. My first build I was more than excited for was to build the best looking pirate ship I could with all of the new stuff. and I must say. it looks amazing!

Now the ladder. In no way shape or form, can I place this thing next to a wall. it just does NOT go in that spot. is this a bug? is this supposed to be this way? it is driving me insane!

Nope, I've tried in many ways and can't put the ladder close to a wall because the ladder uses that exact spot. Sorry but I'm like you, wishing to make that possible. But there's something you should try, the ladder need at least one tall block of space to work so put a wood roof followed by a wall and if you put the ladder close to that one block elevated wall it will work and many more ladders up! Hope you understand, the ladder can be close to a wall but this wall must start at the half of the ladder and the first half (close to floor) must be a diagonal roof to let that triangular empty space for the ladder and then you can put as many ladders on top as you want.

See my profile, I posted 2 photos for you to see how it works, hope it helps because this is the only way I know. Almost forgot, the ladders needs a full wall to conect the second one because half walls don't work.

Ok How the hell did you get these to work!

As you see, the ladder need that empty space, and the only way is using a roof and then the wall. To connect 2 ladders it needs to be in the middle of a complete wall, not half as shown.

ok, so to me this is broken then. I should be able to slap the ladder right next to the large wall with out the slant.
