I think your fear is rooted in anticipation and suspense.
As soon as you hear the sound of the lurkers, you anticipate an attack and begin to wait in suspense.

My advice is to disassociate the sound of the lurker with danger. You can do this by practicing on peaceful mode. You will hear the sound of the lurker, but it will not attack you. After a while, you will not feel the fear associated with that sound when you hear it. As an added bonus, you will be able to get up close to the lurker and inspect it.

Coming face to face with your fear is the best way to overcome it.
