Possible fix for blue screen when joining friend server

I had an issue where every time I join my girlfriend's raft it would always make me go into a blank blue screen with tabs and then I would eventually get stuck there forever and had to keep exiting and joining back, but what I did to fix it was I turn off all the windows defender security features including firewalls, figured that might be the reason it wasn't letting me join. Hopefully this works out for you guys.

UPDATE: In conclusion, the reason I can't join the server was because I had the application called GameFirst VI running and every time I opened up a game, it "optimized network" which is probably the reason it was giving me issues when joining. I did test it with it on and off and exiting it out eventually fix the problem.

Try flushing your dns, this should help with any recent dns changes that could affect:

Interesting. Would like to hear feedback from others to confirm if solution works for other people.

It's also worth exploring if whitelisting/making exception/excluding Raft work the same way without having to shut down firewall and antivirus software. Any volunteers?

Had the same problem, but in my case it was Discord. If I launch Discord I get the same blue screen when joining and if I host my friends get the blue screen.

Update: Found out I also had GameFirst VI running. Game works fine with Discord now. Thanks Friend!

Unfortunately, does not work with me. I allowed the game through the firewall but still get the 'blue screen of death' even when firewall is off. Can't help but wonder if it's just connection issues?

Try going through your program list and see if any programs is changing the network dns and stuff like that, and try to restore it to the default settings, because my issue was this program called GameFirst VI said it was "optimizing my network", and that was the main issue for me.

The screen and the lag even causes Discord to lag like hell and my friends game starts to lag whenever it happens too so this seems to be kind of serious issue. I tried the firewall stuff but didn't help

Quick notices. Yesterday I tried to join same (FIRST) friend's raft but didn't work even after flushing DNS. When I tried to join my SECOND friend's raft I joined without problems.

NOTICES:

1> FIRST friend has same internet provider than me. [JOINING FOR ME TO HIS RAFT DOESN'T WORK]

2> SECOND friend has different internet provider than me. [JOINING FOR ME TO HIS RAFT WORKS]

3> These two friends are able to play together maybe because of the difference between internet providers and I can't because they play on FIRST friend's raft.

4> When joining FIRST friend's raft he starts to lag on Discord SECOND friend doesn't lag.

Hope this somehow will be helpful.
