Use a scarecrow.
You can also tried to kill them. The game got a change to make one respawn
time to time but that still give you a little time. Also, it is free food.

But... yeah, I wish they would reduce their attack a little.
They are kind of annoying.

I can't speak for Knugen, but my scarecrows don't work reliably. Sometimes a gull will attack the scarecrow, but sometimes it will ignore the scarecrow. Even with the scarecrow right next to the crops.

Same here. I have 2 scarecrows right next to my crops, but they ALWAYS attack the crops instead.
They are basically useless.

Only reason I plant seeds is to feed on gull meat

I use a fully closed second floor that has a 98% success rate of protecting against gulls

There is a trick. You need to put your crops in a room, and put 2 roofs, the top one should be lifted by a half pole, bottom one with a full pole. Everything underneath the double roof will be protected from Seagulls. If you join the Raft discord you'll prob be able to get further help.

Seagull + iron spear = never hungry

If you roof over your crops and put nest, they go in the nest instead of attacking the crops. I field 150 potatoes + flowers in my last game and barely had any issue doing this trick that another user shared back then.
(one nest per roof is enough, rarely two bird will try to attack two plant under the same nest and one will be able to do it - but it's unlikely enough that it's not a problem).

Nothing works, they attack ALL the damn time, highest between is two minutes, never more than that!!!

I am about to stop playing this game due to this, DEVS CHANGE THIS

As I said before, you need to put your crops in a building, with 2 roofs, 2nd roof must be half a pillar high, bottom one a full pillar. Everything under top roof is protected. You need to learn to build.

Or they could, you know, make the mechanics work like they should.

Yes it would be great, but until they fix it just build the above. It's not that hard.

what helped me is building half walls and a floor around my 2 plant boxes.....i have 4 hives placed on top of 2 flower boxes and the seagulls never come by and i can harvest the honeycomb easy.

the way my raft is built is that i used half walls so my view of the front couldnt be blocked.

ive had them that way forever and never a seagull spawning.

BUT if i want drumsticks i either have to kill a screecher or let the flower box grow in the open so the seagull comes.

build a room of 2 wide , and build a wall all arround it. do not place trees closeby and you are good.
