Raft

Optimization.
This game, if you ask me is poorly optimized. I meet all the PC specs for this game and yet I still don't have 60+ fps.
Also, I get 60+ fps when I first start the game, but after around 5 minutes of play, the game starts having spikes of 20 fps to 45 fps, and it will have 45 fps as it's new average.
Also, Raft takes up 100% of my GPU even though it's better than the recommended GPU.
How do I fix this lag problem?

My laptop specs for the MSI GS65 Stealth 9SD:
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-9750H CPU @ 2.60 GHz
Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 Ti
15.6" FHD (1920x1080), 144Hz, IPS-Level (Screen)
16 gigs of memory.

I hope you guys can help me find a solution to this lag issue.

What do you mean a mobile video chip?
I thought I had the actual Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 Ti
When I look up pictures for it, it shows a real graphics card.

Laptop GPU's are weaker than their Desktop counterparts meaning that GeForce GTX 1660 Ti on a desktop is generally far more powerful than GeForce GTX 1660 Ti on a laptop. Same goes for CPU's.

Desktop version of GTX 1660 Ti beats it's laptop counterpart by 20-30% in most tests:

Pretty much all game system requirements are based on desktop hardware and desktops are what games are generally tested on and optimized for. On paper though, your laptop should be able to run raft better.

I suspect the reason for poor performance might be heat related and your laptop starts to throttle GPU/CPU after 5 minutes to avoid overheating (laptops have far inferior cooling compared to desktops and even some desktops have overheating issues with the game). You should install some monitoring software to see how hot various parts of your computer are running while playing.

You should also lower various graphics settings to see if it helps. Enabling motion sickness mode have also reported to improve performance.

What kind of raft do you have? Is it by change very big? Could you post a screenshot of your raft with the performance statistic visible (press 'o' three times)? Should show following statistics on screen:

More foundations you have the more demanding game is to your CPU due to needed collision physics calculations and lanterns are very GPU intensive so it's recommended to build tall instead of wide and keep the number of lanterns to minimum especially if you start to have performance issues.

Yes, that's what I mean. Thanks for the detailed answer. (:

Virtual Cosmos, also check the Nvidia control panel. Perhaps your laptop runs the game on the video core built into the processor.

Thanks for all this advice! I'll try some of the solutions out!
I have a somewhat-big raft but the lag just comes randomly after prolonged gameplay. Thank you!

Here is a short clip of how the game runs.

It has it's slow lag spikes.
