Machete can't cut vegetation to radio 6 [solved]

I must admit, i felt pretty stupid.
I couldn't figure out why my machete couldn't cut down the vegetation.
Turns out it wasn't a quest bug (I think) but instead a position bug.

I went too close to the vines which screwed with the hit detection of the machete.

Solution:
I went the furthest possible point where I still got the machete indicator and that worked for me.

Just a little heads up with people running into this "problem".
