2 sharks at the same time - bug or feature?

Recently I have 2 of those buggers going after my raft. Killing them both give me 2 new sharks, restarting the game wont change anything. I guess it's a bug? Any of you got the same so far?

it's a bug, only one shark should be present, i believe they're going to fix it.

Oh, boy. I'm glad you posted this. I have had the two sharks glitch and I'm at my wit's end. I can't dive for new materials, even on easy. Killing one seems to result in immediate replacement. I can't defend two sides of my raft when anchored at islands. The only saving grace is that if a friend joins you, they seem to be unable to see or be attacked by the sharks (even though on your screen it looks like they're savaging your guest). I may need to stop playing until they can correct it.

After trying today, I can no longer play the game solo with this bug. It's impossible to dive with two sharks, there's no reprieve. I guess they'll let us know if they fix it. If they don't, I've gotten my $20 out of the game at this point anyway, but I'll have to change my review. This bug makes it unplayable.

Thanks, Monchrome. I've submitted a bug report. I figure they're not fixing it over the weekend. It's a bummer. I had some work I was getting done on the raft, but need metal to continue. Baiting the sharks wasn't doing much good. Diving with fins gave me time to grab a chunk of ore or two, but then they killed me. I guess I'm sitting it out until they're able to fix it.

Elyssianna, I'd recommenda bug report. I just checked and I still have two sharks. I know they're aware. It's spoiling it for me, too. The staff is really helpful, but so far no fix.

Since update 8, multiple sharks can spawn in the Hard Mode and they have more hitpoints.

UPDATED HARD MODE

Hard mode have gotten a makeover: there's now a chance of multiple sharks spawning when you kill one, and the sharks health has been increased a bit (5 hits instead of 4) for it to go away. The shark will also attack in a more frequent, but random pattern, which should make for more exciting gameplay. We aim for this to be a mode where you should think and calculate the chances you take - before you take them. As always, we appreciate feedback, so yell at us if it's too hard. :) Food and Thirst is also harder to sustain, and all enemies have had their damage increased.

I am still trying a no death in hard, and I just got this bug, its almost impossible, they attacked me in a row, lost 90 per cent of my health, and the raft is getting attacked each 2 mins, with 5 hits with wooden spear

um , snouka, I assume you are playing in hard mode.?? are you??
I only play hard mode now so I can get lotsa screechers.

If so , then you must not kill the shark.

To lazy to look but I think it is 8 wood for the spear and 2 for the tile plus 2 plastic so economically you are better of replacing the floor tile rather than making a spear.

This is all assuming you play hard mode. Was the only way to get more than 1 shark.

But look at it logically, the shark is really easy to kill once you have a bow and metal arrows, 10arrows I think and you have 4 shark meat so when I was playing normal , way back, all I need to do was kill sharks and have lots of nests, birds nests for eggs. This removes the need to have gardens all over your raft for pineapple spuds etc so if I was a dev, ha ha, to dumb , did I hear you think, I would do something so you would use all of the other survival stuff by punishing you with more than one shark. You only get the extras if you kill the sharks and more if you keep killing them so!!! moral of the story , from advice I was given , dont kill the shark. forget the spear all together.
However if you have 2 sharks then , you are very very busy but leave them alone and just replace the tiles then armour them as best you can and as soon then life gets tollerable.
I did it solo with 2 sharks and when you get your armoured minimal raft you look back, wipe the mental sweat from your brain and say -- wow that was great.

We had the same problem.
Reloading the map dindn´t help either.
In the end it resulted in a third shark apperaring. ^^
Evan as a Duo it´s very dificult to defeat all at the same time.(or befor the next one respawns)

We ended up Dying :P
