Machete Issue

So I made it to Balboa Island. I got the Machete and the blueprint but I died afterwards. After losing both I can not get pas the Vines to get to the Tower 6. All I have seen is that is the only machete you can get. Am I stuck? How do I get past then vines?

If you picked up the Machete blueprint, you should be able to research Machete on your research table and craft them one your self.

I lost the blueprint when I died. I tried to see if I could craft the machete after I died and go to the research bench but had no luck. I am stuck and can not proceed in this game

if you have read the blueprint you have learnt it, its just a matter of making sure you have researched all the required mats at the research table and click learn on the machete.
