Raft

Why the hell is the shark attacking the boat sound so quiet?
I have basically been trained to be on high alert for anything that sounds like a quiet splishy splashy noise IN THE MIDDLE OF THE OCEAN because that means the shark is destroying my boat. You really couldn't add some wood breaking sfx or something?

On my headphones it sounds very much like breaking something.

Yeah, it's kinda easy to not notice the shark attacking. I have a little raft, and several times I only noticed because my raft was missing tiles.

The problem with sharks is, it's not like they growl or anything, so there's no vocal cue the animal can give you. Unless you count that one Jaws movie where the shark growled and stuff, but eh, we don't talk about that one.

I think the dun dun bit is probably copyright which would need payments..
The sound of them on my headphones is loud, they often make me jump when they splash and attack.

Maybe op needs to turn up his volume abit or get some decent headphones.

Wish there was a way to flag posts so the developers could see them, this is honestly brilliant.

I was thinking some kind of loud wooden chomp that is distinct and can be heard from anywhere on the boat.
I've lowered my sound a little bit cause I watch stuff when I play so maybe that has something to do with it, but it doesn't effect my ability to hear anything else.

The splash sounds while he's attacking are very easy to notice tbh.
I also tend to watch something else on another monitor sometimes and can only say you either have to find a balance to be able to still notice those sounds... or maybe not blame the game since you're listening to different sources at once :)

The sounds a shark makes shouldn't matter when it's literally chomping a chunk of wood into splinters.

i think i have the same problem than him, i can hear the shark only when i see it, i have a problem with the sound, it is the same than for bird i hear them only if i see them, but if they are in my back i can't hear them, i search in option to resolve my problem, but i don't find.

I can be standing right next to the shark as it destroys my ship and not notice.
Unsurprisingly when everything surrounding me is making splashing water noises, more splashing isn't noticable.
The sounds of crunching wood would be a nice addition. Or significantly louder splashing.
