Does more motors make your raft go faster? or having 1 is the same that having 4?

A third engine won't help unless you are over 200 foundations. There is also a "slow zone" which gives you an extra 10 foundations per engine before the engines are completely ineffective( gets complicated, see article below for full details).

You need 1 engine per 100 foundations to move your raft. Beyond that there's no difference between 1 and 100 engines as long there's enough of them for the size of your raft. Extra engines don't do anything and if you don't have enough engines they'll stall.

Thanks for correction. I wasn't aware about that info. :vote_yes:

Must have been a bug in game, wife was building the raft, engines went in to the slow zone, put down another engine and they were still slow? Any ideas? :)

Are the engines' direction levers all set to forward? I've accidentally switched one engine to going backwards when trying to turn the engines on.

If it's a bug, try verifying game files on steam. If that doesn't help, there's a pinned thread at the top for submitting bug reports.

Thanks Roses, had done that before so that was the first thing i checked

Also try removing and replacing the engines. Out of curiosity, what's the raft's foundation count?
GoldenOuroboros Jul 8, 2020 @ 7:55pm
ok, sorry for an absolute n00b question, but is there somewhere to check that or do you just need to multiply width by length?
roses46 Jul 9, 2020 @ 12:43pm
Only by multiplying width by length. Make sure to subtract collection nets, as they don't count toward foundations( except to the shark, he's not picky).

When you reach 3 engines, it no longer matters how many foundations you have; the "slow zone" speed becomes greater than the max speed, 2.5

Thanks Roses, is it only foundations that matter? Will another layer add to the max tiles?
roses46 Jul 10, 2020 @ 4:44pm
Yes, only foundations count; your 2nd floor shouldn't change your speed.

ok thanks :D ofcourse with that information there will be no limit to the tiers that will be added in the communal game I have with my friends, haha
