Y=Directions your sail can move you to
X=Directions your sail can't move you to (you need paddles or engines to go this way)
If you have your sail directly opposite to the wind, your raft will still drift in direction of the wind, just slower. Direction of the wind never changes in the game so it always blows in one direction.
If the location you're trying to reach is story location, simply let your raft float until current story location despawns and game respawns a new one, hopefully in direction you can sail to.
