Raft
Question about reinforcing your raft
Hello! So this is my first playthrough and I have probably a silly question about foundation reinforcement. From what I've gathered, a lot of people have the issue of the shark attacking random squares anywhere on the raft unless they reinforce the entire thing. Is that just because they only reinforced the perimeter?

The back of my raft is not very accessible, and it's one of Bruce's favorite spots to munch. I frequently don't get there in time to stop him from destroying a square, and planks are too precious for me right now to keep wasting on repairs/rebuilds. If I reinforce just the backside, will he start attacking random middle squares since I won't have armored the whole thing or will he continue munching the (unarmored) perimeter squares like he does now?

My suspicion is no, but I want to get verification before I risk finding out I'm wrong lol

Thanks in advance!!

Okay, but more specifically what I'm wondering is if I start reinforcing my raft but can't finish, will he suddenly be able to eat middle squares even if I leave perfectly chewable, unarmored pieces along the edge? Or does he only go for middle pieces if he can no longer reach any edge pieces?

Yes.

Start with most important areas like nets, under stairs, pillers, under chests etc. Then work your way outwards. Then the shark will tend to just chew on the outside until you're ready to finish the work. I like to stick small triangular bits out for him to chew on.

I've been told he'll attack the middle squares if they're not reinforced, yeah.

The shark will monch all un-reinforced base parts

The only way to make the shark stop attaking the tiles is armoring the whole floor in contact with water. The ones that are not armored will be eventually attacked.
