No stone other that in barrels

Can't find stone near any islands, only ones i found is in barrels.
It's hinders the game in a big way, anyone knows why there is no stone when the wiki says so?
Found sand, clay, copper, metal, scrap etc.

Not all islands have have all the resources. I remember there being at least islands without stone and islands without seaweed. Resource amounts and concentration also vary. During my latest game first two island I landed on had no stone but after that I got far more than I needed.

It's just been all four islands up to now, and getting quite annoying, since i can't make an anchor, so i can't go to most islands.

The first few islands seem to always be completely devoid of stone for me as well, it's really annoying having to pass by them because I can't make an anchor. Like many games, it seems early game is much harder than late.

Some don't and some have a lot. Just keep sailing!

This problem is killing the game for me, I don't want to have to convince my friends to play the game whenever I feel like playing it, but playing solo and then running onto an island with no stone makes it impossible for me to continue.

The shark spawns shortly after I kill it and it prevents swimming out to get materials. So now my raft is beached on the island, not enough materials to make a sail and leave.

Raft makes it feel like it really does not want you to play solo, and if you do it's not fun at all.

are you looking underwater in the reefs? thats where the stone is, its not on the land

I didn't notice the missing stones in my first two playthroughs, but now on my third I am not finding stones on several islands, which makes bird hunting hard (no arrows either). My guess is because I'm more practiced this time around, I got underwater to islands faster. So far haven't found stones on three islands. Hoping that changes soon.

Never needed anchor til I could make the unbreakable one. Just use sail and a streamer for wind direction and don't fight it. If it won't take you to that island wait for one that it will and turn the sail into the island with fine tuning direction wind will keep you pinned on the island for most part.
