Raft
Glitched/Freezes?
So an "AppHangB1" error (which is an error that makes my computer slow, or freeze up entirely) keeps ruining my game.

As in I can't even play the game.
I *eventually* get to the title screen and it just.. stops.

I can play other games. I have the space for this game.

I have:
-Tried searching the files for any bad files.
-Un and re installed Steam several times
-Run it with the Firewalls down
-Used the command control to look into any background files that I can't reach, completing two sfc /scannow commands and both came back without any integrity damage.
-Applied the -dx9 code to both the Steam shortcut and Raft Lauch Options.

The only setbacks I've had are:
-I tried running it in safe mode, but F8 doesn't run the options in Startup Menu.
-Steam shortcut was not "born" into Programs Files x86 (my computer won't let me do that, so I had to put it on desktop and move it into the programs file with admin permission.)

I've tried every option out there, is this game just not playable?? I'll be awfully mad if I paid for this game and can't even play it. It wouldn't let me play on my last computer, either, but I thought that was just low space. This one is fine, so I don't know? Subnautica worked, and it requires about the same specs.

Apparently I posted this in the wrong place.. I apologize, but I'm beyond frustrated and just want some help.

When you got the error, what application did it say the problem was with: Raft.exe or Steam.exe ? All the mentions I can find on Steam are with Steam.exe.

Have you tried this?:

https://steamcommunity.com/discussions/forum/1/864973032790233112/

AppHangB1, FIXED!!!!!
Iv seen many posts on AppHangB1 error and i found the solution, well it worked for me.

1.Go to your Steam folder: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam

2.Just delete every folder, program and file EXCEPT for Steam.exe and steamapps

3.Restart your PC,After restarted do not try to open Steam from any shortcuts or your toolbar, instead go back to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam and open the Steam.exe and it will re-install all the components deleted and Steam will open with no errors if steam opens by itself when you start windows it is ok.

Hope this helps.

If that does not work, you might want to uninstall Steam and install it elsewhere (I have it installed in "C:\Steam" for example).

Raft.exe. I tried all the listed ideas, short of re-installing Windows, and taking apart my computer.
Just another waste of money at this point..

First see if it's a permissions issue:

https://support.redbeetinteractive.com/hc/en-us/articles/360013656220-Version-X-XXXXXXX-and-Stuck-in-Character-Selection-Menu

Based on how the error was resolved with other programs, you could try this:

First, navigate to C:\Users\[Your username]\AppData\LocalLow\Redbeet Interactive\Raft\
Open file output_log.txt and post the content here. If the file is too big make a copy to a safe place for the bug report later.

Uninstall Raft
Navigate to C:\Users\[Your username]\AppData\LocalLow\
Delete folder "Redbeet Interactive"
Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\
Delete folder "Raft"
Reinstall Raft and see if it works now

If nothing above works, please submit a bug report so the developers can take a look here:

https://support.redbeetinteractive.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

Attach the output_log.txt to the report if it had anything in it in case it'll help the devs debug the issue. Also do include link to this topic so devs can see what's already been suggested and tried to resolve the issue.

What.. am I supposed to put in the log? You weren't very specific about what I'm posting in it.
Also, the link didn't help, but thanks for trying.

I mean't copy the content (the text in it) of the output_log.txt and paste the content here if there is anything in it and it's not too long (there's a limit on amount of text a post can have here). This from my output_log.txt:

If the file was not empty, you should also copy the file somewhere so you could attach it to the bug report form later because in following instructions I suggested you delete Redbeet Interactive folder where the file is. By deleting both Retbeet Interactive and Raft folders should insure there is no corrupted files left behind to interfere with the reinstall that would follow.

This is all it says, I'll try deleting the Raft and Redbeet folders.

What graphics card do you have? VRAM amount would suggest it's ancient. Even NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti has 1 GB. And it's using MS basic render driver. That seems wrong... :lunar2020thinkingtiger:

Can you post your system specifications?

Processor: AMD E1-1200 APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics 1.40 GHz
Installed memory (RAM): 4.00 GB (3.57 GB usable)
System type: 64 bit Operating System, x64-based processor

Had to look up how to find it, but the graphic card should be AMD Radeon HD 7310 Graphics.

That's WAY under powered to run the game. That's probably the problem. There is something wrong with your graphics driver as it reports it's using Microsoft Basic Render Driver. It should be using Radeon drivers made by AMD. Even if you fixed the driver, your graphics card would not be able to run this game.

I have to ask, why did you think your computer could run the game? :lunar2020thinkingtiger:

I'm sorry but there is no way to make the game work on your computer. It's simply not powerful enough to run it. I recommend you request refund. Instructions can be found here:

It ran Subnautica pretty well, and I had very few issues (sometimes it would lag, but otherwise was okay). Even despite the intensive downloads as of late, what with the Ice map still being developed, still didn't hinder it too much. Their stats seemed pretty similar, so I figured if I simply took out Subnautica and replaced it with Raft, it would work fine, but I guess not.
Anyways, thanks. I'v been working at this for like a week, so at least it's not going to be a headache anymore.. even if it is disappointing.

Surprising to hear you could run Subnautica (I assume you mean the sequel, Subnautica: Below Zero). It does have quite low graphics requirements listed. :lunar2020thinkingtiger:

Sorry that I could not be more help and hopefully you're able to get the refund. :wftosad:
