Macs dont use IOS for one thing, for another if you buy a Mac then you could have gotten a better more powerful PC for cheaper why is it the developers fault?
Its a small developer making a game for the most popular platform. It would make sense to port it to game systems way before Mac.
While back in say, the 90s, Windows was pretty much THE gaming OS, over time, many developers have realized the importance of Apple, Macs, and OSX to gaming.
After the iMac explosion, the share of people on Windows PCs started to go down. While Windows PCs are still the dominant software and hardware combo in the world (owing partially to the fact of there being so many options vs just Macs (without a going the Hackintosh route), the other part being cost difference), it would be remiss of anyone to think that Windows PCs are the be-all-end-all in terms of gaming. This is further exacerbated by the fact that Apple has made it more desirable and convenient to have all Apple products, as everything is integrated into each other.
A lot of games are made with OSX in mind from the beginning, even if initially the game is not made useable in OSX. Blasphemous is an example of this, being that when it was put up on Kickstarter, there was a goal to make it available for Windows, Mac, and Linux. While the game has been released for Windows, the other versions have yet to show up, but its in development (which is probably a bit delayed now due to a worldwide pandemic).
A similar game to Raft, Subnautica, was in a similar situation. Yet I, a Mac user, can play Subnautica on my Mini, because sometime in 2016, Subnautica was developed so that it could be played on OSX.
Hopefully Raft will be available for OSX and Linux in the future, but in the meantime I'll just have to watch other people's streams and Let's Plays.
Not to mention that a high percentage of the Windows users only play just a few popular multiplayer games.
Most Mac users are not gaming on them because only a fool would buy a Mac to game on. You might as well buy a Mini Cooper to haul things.
But having the money to blow on a more expensive less powerful system? How is that someone elses fault?
The fact is nearly every game does support windows... because developers tend to like earning money for their efforts and don't produce games just for the good of mankind.
Windows is used by the vast majority of gamers and that's about it.
Mac and Linux exist for... well they exist, but those are neither a big market share nor made to be flexible like win.
Unless you gift the devs a giant bag of money and pay for the port yourself, it's up to them to finish the game and decide if it's reasonable to port the game.
