Why don't the engines work in creative mode

I have played over 43 hours of this game and I have noticed that in creative mode the engines don't work so I want to set out to find out why.

Still gotta fuel them. No point though, you don't move in creative.

There would be absolutely no point to movement in creative. Creative is just that, to create stuff. There are no enemies, and floating around to pick up debris would be pointless, since you have unlimited, right?

Raft is stuck in place on Creative and can't move. This is by design as there is nothing to find even if your raft could move. Islands, flotsam, derelict rafts etc. are all disabled in Creative. The mode is only for planning and testing raft builds and building what ever creations you wish for.

it would be just fun to moove around freely. this sucks. this game feels its missing another half of the game

The other half is the survival mode. You get to move freely and explore the world as you wish.

I would also recommend Peaceful mode if you don't want to be bothered by the animals, including the shark. I've already reached the end of the current content on my initial save so I have a secondary one in Peaceful mode where I just float around, work on my raft, and admire the hand-sculpted islands and other locations. You do still have to feed and water yourself but it's a lovely game mode for when you wanna just chill.

Note that while most animals will not fight back when you attack them, the boar and the bear will still retaliate but only after you strike first. Bees will also still sting you if you come too close to their cloud.

So I guess my big thing is: in every other game there is a creative mode where you can interact with every story item and move around freely and my question is why cant raft have the same design; I would really like to see a update where you can move around to the different points on the map like the island and the trailer park (dev's pls add)

and adding on to @Minted I do enjoy peaceful but it seems I get stuck on the first island a lot and I would just like to see that but without having to worry about health and hunger and materials
