How do I find land!?

I've been looking for a large island for 2 hours now and NOTHING. This is absolutely infuriating.

For clarification, over an hour of that was on a pre big island map. Does that make a difference?

You need to make the antennas and receiver first, find the station and find the office (hint, up the very top of the building). After that, sail your raft away so you can no longer see the station and turn your receiver on, it should then display a new dot. Head towards it and it will be a big island. You cannot find big islands without completing the station first.

Completed the station long ago, had no idea this was required for big islands.

Ah, I think it was mentioned in the big island update that you find the islands through the receiver. Anyway, have fun!
