Be warned though. Soon as he caught on to each game he tended to go his own way and avoided telling other players he was my son. LOL, now at 17 he is like Nightrdr who?
This is probably good for ages 6 and up, maybe younger with someone helping out on the controls.
And the gameplay isn't complicated, so I think even the young kids would pick it up quickly.
Other than that, it seems fairly tame, and is less violent than Minecraft; and that game is supposed to be friendly to kids.
As for a 10-year old understanding it, I'm not sure. If they understand first person shooter controls, I guess so?
I mention this because there are people who will find this "hunting/mild violence" offensive and/or prevent their children from having these kind of life experiences in real life, play, or discussions. Also, if your child is easily frightened by, say, scary movies, he is probably going to be terrified by his interaction with the shark in this game ( think in terms of the "JAWS" movies) as the shark is your main protagonist in this game and he is out to intentionally destroy your raft and posessions and end your life when you enter the water.
So if you and/or your child have no problems with the items put forth in paragraph two, then, dive in (pun intended) and enjoy a clean, but sometimes slightly stressful game!
It's not rated by ESRB, I wasn't sure where they guidelines/parameters lied.
For Parents, games that are "kid friendly" is a wholly ambigious term, and there are huge grey parameters, only because Parents comfort levels to what their kids are exposed to is widely variant - dependant on where their conviction levels are.
I really appreciate everyone's absolutely fantastic feedback.
Mark.
Anyway, you did an amazing job with this game so far and I am confident, that you will deliver on upcoming features with the same quality.
Yeah! Thanks! She's all over Roblox. She loves playing that. They do have some really neat ideas in there.
