You can make nests for the seagulls, so the land on them at leave feathers behind. Also you can kill the seagulls much easier that way.

eggs come for cluckers not seagulls, seagulls give only feathers and drumsticks in killed.
Giant Clam needs to have its current usefulness upgraded to a high end food recipe ingredient. As it stands, a small crop plot will guarantee a seagull landing for that seagull drumstick and feather goodness, whereas a clam will only half the time bring down a seagul.

My two seagulls, Channing and Tatum, consistently land in their perches on the back of my raft. But I don't kill them every time; I mostly let them roost and disturb them only for feathers.

I have to agree that the clams could use more application. Food was my first thought when I saw them. Come on, clam chowder! Also, possible shield/defense against the land enemies? What about rigging up one as a bear trap of sorts? Or an improved version of the hook/net that allows it to hold more. That's just off the top of my head.

Agreed, the clam should get more usage.
I'm of the belief that there are plans to use it for the future, along with other "minor" items such as sand, glass, clay, stone, and explosive powder.
We simply have to wait and see.
However, I'd love to see food items, maybe re-usable plates and bowls made from calm half shells, maybe even a sink or bird feeder?
