Engine does nothing.

The engine does not move my raft. Its a 1 platform raft. Just big enough to fit 4 engines yet it doesn't move. I can jump in the water and raft stays in exact spot. What am I doing wrong. I have no where near 400 blocks.

Chcek the following questions:
1. Is the anchor raised? Normally the raft floats so if your raft does not move at all, check your anchor!
1. Did you switch on the engines?
2. Did you fill the engines with some fuel (for example wood)?
3. Are all the engines set in the same direction?

Look at the wheels on the engines, are they turning fast, or really slow. If they are turning really slow then you need another engine or have the anchor down. If they arn't turning at all, make sure you have enough fuel in them, have them switched on and all have the direction lever pointing the same way on the raft.

Are you in creative mode? If so: You will not move at all it is just for building.

Sounds like you're in creative mode. In creative mode raft is stuck in place and all the survival mode elements are disabled (flotsam, abandoned rafts, islands etc.). The mode is solely dedicated for building your dream raft (or what ever you want to build) and testing various raft builds.
