Err, raft is not supposed to move in creative mode and islands even don't exist in that mode either AFAIK. If you want to play game instead of just building humongous raft, you need to choose one of the survival game modes instead.

well actually before the update your raft would move I think but if any raft developers are looking at this discussion, then please make rafts in creaitive mode able to move.

No Octo-Boy, in creative the raft doesn't move. Start a peaceful mode game and it does.

yeah I know that.

Developers just please have creaitive rafts able to move.

Rafts don't move in creative because this mode is considered a sandbox. It allows players to get a feel for the game or just play around. Give it up dude they aren't going to make creative mode rafts move.

Besides what's the point of your raft moving when there are no islands in Creative Mode?

I'd say that Octo-boy must have been playing this game the longest out of the commenters. The raft did indeed used to move on creative.

Look up a video by a youtuber called Blitz, the video title is Building the Epic Island Base! - Raft Gameplay.

He is in creative and builds his raft entirely around an island. So yes, at one time creative did allow the raft to move and you did find islands. I can only assume that was changed later as there is no real need to gather in creative.

I do know raft used to move and islands used to exist in creative but those features and more were removed soon after Raft was released into early access (mostly in version 1.01 and 1.01b). You could even get achievements until they were disabled in creative mode in version 1.01. :wizorbwink: So Octo-Boy's world needed to have been created all the way back then or he should have realized the changes sooner. Either that or he used mods.

Update 1.01b
* Debris, abandoned rafts and islands no longer spawn in creative to increase building performance.
* Collider system has been removed in creative to drastically decrease delay when building floors and foundations on bigger rafts.

I appreciate that you know and clearly posted as such this time Anonymous Helper. I was not trying to be rude. I was simply coming to the defense of a poster who missed an old feature when it seemed as if every poster was refusing to acknowledge that it used to be possible. Sometimes older players get treated like imbeciles simply because newer players never had the experience with older builds.

I don't play creative so I wouldn't miss it, but I can also see how someone who does play creative would still like to get the feel of traveling the ocean and finding islands and wrecks. It is the best part of the game for me after all.

No problem, I did not take your post as rude at all in the first place. :steamhappy: I just wanted to clarify and point out the features Octo-Boy was talking about have been removed half a year ago and was simply curious how he has managed to miss it all this time. :wizorbwink: The only things that came to my mind is he's been using pre-removal save (that's some dedication right there if true :vote_yes:) or mods.

Well there is peaceful mode available now so they can pick up best of both worlds. No threats so people are free to build without being harassed though they still need to gather the materials and they can explore all the features of the game. They will hit the same performance problems that led to the removal of aforementioned features from the creative mode if they try to build the mega rafts from creative mode in any survival mode though.

Lol. I remember. In the video I referenced above, Blitz had some serious frame rate issues building the raft that encircled the island.

Game probably would become a slideshow, crash instantly or in worst case fry the GPU if collisions and all the survival features were enabled in creative with one of those mega rafts floating around so I don't think restoring them is a very good idea in the first place. The engine simply can't handle having both in it's current state.

well I found it out when I made a new world... but do you think my old creaitive worlds still work?

Probably. I don't recall any of the patches requiring restart. Mind you may encounter some weird behavior due to conflicting data. For example if you have parked your raft next to an island in your old creative save, the island will probably still exist if you load now but no other islands will spawn if you move away and once the island despawns it's gone forever. If you have creative save from before the invisible anchor was introduced, your will still be able to move as I'm pretty sure that is only applied into new raft upon world creation. etc.
