how to fish for salmon?
So... I have no idea how to catch big fish like samon and catfish. Does it depend on the rod? How long you hold the button when casting? How far away you cast the rod away from raft? Pure random?

It's random. Keep fishing and you'll randomly encounter larger fish.

Conversely, if you are trying to fish for shark bait, it would be better to use wooden rods.
