The receiver screen shows large islands (green dots) and story islands (blue dots). You need to set the frequency to the story island you are interested in. The top of the screen is in front of the receiver (the direction you are looking when looking straight at the screen) and not the direction your raft is going. If your receiver isn't oriented correctly, then the top of the screen isn't what is in the direction your raft is going so it can be confusing. This can be problematic if your raft got spun by colliding with an island or other raft before you get the steering wheel.
