Raft
Empty Battery!!
What to do with the empty batteries other than making headlight? Can we re-use/re-new/re-cycle them in anyway? Please help. I haven't thrown away the empty batteries but they are taking a lot of spaces.

currently there is nothing else than the headlamp and this is a bit of an oversight probably. I have been trowing them overboard. At some point the devs will most definitely do something to recharge them.
In the meantime, there are mods that add battery recharging up you are too annoyed.

It would be cool to have something next to the engine to use it as a dynamo to recharge battery

End-game type of thing so you don't throw them overboard when using it so you end up with a set of batteries through progression.

I am waiting for full electrical systems. :)

I think we need a solar panel upgrade so you can go on an extended island expedition without worrying your animals will die. Of course, we'd also need piping from the ocean to the sprinkler to make sure they didn't starve. :p

To get around this, I just made two 3 x 3 grids of land plots, put 4 sprinklers around it. Put no more than 3 animals into each grid and it lasts a very long time. Even if one or two sprinklers run out of power while I'm away from my ship, the most I lose that are not getting water is one plot.

If you don't mind mods theres a solar panel mod as well as an electrical system mod
I have considered having a way to recharge batteries, but at one copper per battery it really isn't an issue to have to recharge them. I usually run a smaller raft being solo most the time, so I don't run into problems like this. With a lot of sprinklers for a large field, I could see how batteries ,would be a problem. All the same, just seems like too much work to save some work.

hi i think saltwater, sand, a coiled copper, and a tincan/scrap can make a battery (with a bit of plastic to insulate the base a little. maybe much larger version using a small storage box sized plastic container, could become a way to make a battery charger that only charges 1 battery at a time. (but costs like 5 times as much to make initially) :)

actually i had 2 battery problems today: (its only my 2nd playthrough lol so maybe i made a mistake, but im pretty sure its a bug?

problem 1: (vanishing battery)
i made a battery, and put it into the research bench. This usually uses up the item when you click research, and it fills a slot next to something you can learn, (when all slots are filled up).
but when i clicked research, the battery vanished, and nothing new was learned, and no research slots showed that they needed any battery or even that a battery was provided.

problem 2: (battery suddenly lost charge)
i placed a Receiver, and put a Battery in the slot and it said to move to higher ground. so i quickly removed the battery and Receiver to pick them up and i went up some stairs nearby, and placed them back down, and now the battery was completely Empty, all within about 10 seconds.

yoooo man. dont throw ur empty battery. u can charge it. u need to find the blue print for batter charger. or u can make metal detector from epmty battery to farm titanium ingot

(thanks woosung i will keep it for later - it was just a shame that before i even got to use it, it stopped working, and i had already lost 1 battery to the Research bench with the 1st problem
so maybe when i find enough items, i will be 3rd time lucky :)

you can also use a dead battery to make an item that uses a battery as an ingredient.
i.e: headlamp and metal detector.
