Neither, I'm afraid (although you can have your raft in two unconnected parts, but they'll behave as though magically attached).

I haven't done it myself, but every foundation has to be connected to another one, so if you cut off a foundation from all the others, it will break as well. So, make sure there are other foundations that they connect to, if that makes sense.

there is a way.. bring some foundation in together. and make them armored.. only one of them and choose the fartest. then wait shark attacks on it.. shark cannot break the armored foundations but it keeps breaking others.. I just shared a screenshot if you wanted to check. In that way, I made a ladder at the back for my ship, too :D

yeah sometimes shark can break foundation without destroying a group that is disconnected from the center, I thought it was a bug because pretty rare
thank you for the idea of armored I didn't think about it that's maybe what cause the bug
