Sharks immune to axes

Spears are garbage, they break too fast and often in the middle of a shark attack

Instinctually I pull out my axe to try and defend my foundation, but it the shark is complete unharmed

but I'm doubtful, games like this tend to make tools single purpose, making the player sacrifice inventory space if they want to be able to both chop trees and hurt sharks..
