Wondered if anybody can add to my knowledge of the lore!
So I was just thinking about the lore of the game and wondered if anybody could add anything I don't know (I love this sorta thing about games).

So the raft is based off the events of global warming and all of the ice melting flooding the earth and that our characters are situated near Australia is there anything I'm missing or that you can add?

My dude you clicked on a discussion with "Knowledge of lore" in the title, if you didn't expect spoilers you sir just aren't very smart.

Not every game has a foundation of lore that is revealed in the store page or in the first few minutes of gameplay. People that don't know the plot twist after hours and hours of playing this could be upset. I'm asking out of consideration of Raft newbies, not because it personally affects me. I *did* expect spoilers when I clicked this, but I thought it'd be worded a bit more considerably for the new players and have masked text for the important bits, not just a massive dump of clear and unhidden text.

With that said, everything you've described is all that we know and all that is in game right now, the only person that could potentially tell you anything else is a member of the dev team.

As of right now, version 1.02, there's nothing else to find in the game, there are no skyscrapers jutting out of the water anywhere or anything, and no more messagea that anyone has discovered. However, I'm wondering if the "Is this utopia?" message might be a bit more subtle than that. Perhaps it means that Utopia is what you make of it... your raft. Being self sufficient living off the ocean, building a gigantic floating fortress... at least until you build it so big that the game can't handle it outside of creative mode, which has happened to my friend... but that's not the point of this post.

Once again its not my problem if someone clicks on the post labelled "game lore" and get annoyed for getting nothing spoiled. Even if you do get "spoiled" there is barely any lore and the story at the moment is a bit like an alpha is. So honestly if you're going to be butt hurt over "spoilers" in this game as well as in the title thats your fault.

Sorry to disappoint, but there's no "butt hurt" here. I've attempted to steer this back on topic by sharing my theory that maybe Utopia isn't an underwater city, but actually you on your raft. But I guess that's not really the sort of discussion you were looking for here. I am sorry to have fed the troll.

I have admit, that is pretty insensitive, on top wilfully not wanting to properly document things.

There can be lore that is openly known about, as well as lore that is behind game/story progression. Even though there isn't much in terms of any kind of lore in this game, and could be argued that if people don't know what little there is by now, "what rock did they live under?", but it is still technically a spoiler to openly talk about stuff related to what is found later on in the game, and a bad habit to get into justifying laziness.

But your behavior isn't 'my problem', but I will explain why it causes issues; and I guess will just totally ignore you if you speak about lore?:steammocking: Simple as that, right? That is what you want people to do?

Man don't see why its such a big deal its pretty simple. If you wanted to see the new marvel movie and the title says "Discussing major parts of the movie" you don't click on it then go, oh no there were spoilers. It's simple common sense.

Eh, I know the spoiler for Raft isn't anywhere near as big as Shrek dying in the Infinity War movie, but it is still a good habit to document things properly. Even though near the end, there is a kraken in a cave that will try to eat your raft after getting to 13 specific places only findable via the receiver, doesn't mean you should blab out what it is, despite how minor a thing it is.

Do you know how annoying it is to put in
<example text>
tags in this forum, let alone use Noparse tags while also typing on mobile? It is fairly awkward, and I'd really wish Steam would update this thing already!

Still, even though the current end might be simple and lackluster now, it could be different later. Heck, what is a technical spoiler now could be a clearly stated story point in the finished game; and I'm perfectly fine with that.

I know it is absurd to keep secrets about the Illuminati audio tapes that teases at the hint of a bigger narrative, but at least try to label and tag stuff as spoiler as best you can. I'm not expecting perfection, just effort and practice, even when it might seem absurd at the time. Better safe than sorry.

Also, spoiler alert!
I gave no actual spoilers within the blacked out text of this post! None of that stuff is true. Also, the first spoiler example is done incorrectly and baits a reader to check it out just so they understand what is being talked about. The rest of the examples, including this one are done more correctly.
