collection net

How can I create the collection net? I already have the research table but I still am not able to create the net, can somebody help me?

how can i research the net? do i need any item to research it ?

you have to feed it various items.. fern, plank, scrap, etc
drag it into the box and then click "research"

Learn it using the research station, then you can build it (as an item in your inventory, not with the hammer).
