How many people can you have on one server

I really wanna buy the game to play with my friends, but we are unsure how many people u can have on one raft server

From the pinned FAQ:

"How many players can play multiplayer simultaneously"
The game will be able to host for infinite numbers of players but of course the host computer is the limitation. We have tried with 7-8 people so far. There will also be a balance problem when playing way too many people but it should be doable.

And there are no servers as such (no dedicated servers). One player acts as host and others join his game.
